Ohio State's artistic swimming squad took third place at the U.S. Collegiate Championships.

Ohio State's legendary artistic swimming program, led by the venerable Holly Vargo-Brown, captured a third place finish at the U.S. Collegiate Championship yesterday at Stanford's Avery Aquatic Center.

For a program with 34 national titles, including 26 with Vargo-Brown participating as a student-athlete, assistant coach or head coach, finishing third could be viewed as a bit of a letdown by some but the result was certainly nothing to scoff at given the stiff competition. The Stanford Cardinal pulled off back-to-back national titles for the first time since a four-peat from 2005-08 and of course this latest title came in their own backyard. Ohio State will be bringing home a respectable haul of hardware in addition to the team's third place finish as Ruby Remati won the A Figures title for the third time during her illustrious career. The Buckeyes also racked up three other top-three finishes in events. Elizabeth Fullen finished second in B Figures while Remati placed second and Scarlett Finn third in Solo.Overall, it was a very successful weekend for the Buckeyes even if they didn't capture the ultimate prize. That said, it's a safe bet Vargo-Brown and company are already focused on getting back to the top of the mountain even as they celebrate another strong campaign.Davison Igbinosun Disputes Claim That He Wore Mitts in Practice to Prevent Him from Grabbing Receivers: “That’s Cap”With OSU Pro Day Complete and the NFL Draft About a Month Away, Which Buckeye Will Be the Highest Draft Pick?
