Freshman offensive guard Austin Siereveld is the fifth Buckeye to have his black stripe removed in the past three days.
An in-state product out of Lakota East, Siereveld was the No. 300 prospect in the 247Sports composite rankings for the class of 2023. He checked in as the 15th-best interior offensive lineman and No. 8 recruit out of The Buckeye State.
Siereveld figures to spend his freshman season learning behind several more veteran guards in front of him, players such as starters Donovan Jackson and Matthew Jones and backup Enokk Vimahi. Siereveld is the 12th Ohio State true freshman to have his black stripe removed this season and the eighth offensive lineman in total. Brandon Inniss, Joshua Padilla, Ja'Had Carter and Arvell Reese join Siereveld as other Buckeyes who have had their black stripes removed this week – Inniss and Padilla dropping theirs Monday, with Carter and Reese following on Tuesday.
