Aaron Scott Jr., a five-star cornerback from the 2024 recruiting class, is leaving Ohio State after two seasons as a Buckeye.
Aaron Scott Jr., who was Ohio State’s No. 4 cornerback this past season, announced he would enter the transfer portal on Saturday.for his special teams play early in the season, when Ohio State’s head coach revealed that Scott had been the first player to the 30-yard line on 13 straight kickoffs.
That additional playing time never materialized on defense, however, as Scott played just 106 defensive snaps for the season, with all of those snaps coming in backup duty. Scott was viewed as a candidate to compete for a starting job in Ohio State’s secondary in 2026, as 2025 starting cornerback Davison Igbinosun and starting nickelback Lorenzo Styles Jr. are out of eligibility while starting cornerback Jermaine Mathews Jr. has a decision to make on whether to enter the 2026 NFL draft. That said, Devin Sanchez – also a five-star recruit – is a leading candidate to replace Igbinosun in the starting lineup.
