Well, after an excruciating 13-37 season in 2025, the sun has dawned on a new year. Now, hopefully with more development and experience better results will come. Entering his second year, Justin Haire leads a junior-heavy team into a 53-game schedule.
Starting down in Pensacola, Florida this weekend, the Buckeyes have a three game series against Saint Louis this coming weekend on B1G+. Highlighting the non-conference schedule are two games against Ole Miss and Texas on February 28th and March 1st. Launching into Big Ten play, Ohio State opens with a series against UCLA at home before series @Washington, @Minnesota, vs Maryland, vs. Penn State, @Purdue, @Rutgers, vs. Nebraska, vs Michigan State, and finishing @TTUN.Lee Ellis , Andrew Edrington , Mason Eckelman , Jake Michalek , Zak Sigman , and Sahil Patel ;Haven Fielder , Austin Rose , Steve Cavaco , Connor Fuhrer , Jude Fisher , Jacob Parr , and Owen Graf ; andare highlighted by the majority of the transfer class, bringing in Alex Bemis via Gannon University, Addison Binnie vis Kirkland Community College, Miles Vandenheuvel via East Arizona University, Gavin West via Gordon State College, Jack Cecil via South Mountain Community College, Chris Domke via Youngstown State, Pierce Herrenbruck via Rend Lake College, Caden Marcum via Cloud County Community College, CJ Ried via Hutchinson Community College, Lincoln McVicker via Centralia College, and Ryan Zamora and Nick Sawyer both via Sacramento City College. Rounding out the incomers are Noah Furcht via UNC Charlotte, Grant Magnum via McNeese State, and Zach Wever via Ohio University. Only change on the coaching staff is Will Morris coming in as Director of Pitching Development, replacing Griffin Parrill. Not to linger on the past, but after a difficult season last year, the positive is that there is almost nowhere to go but up, however, the results start with the pitching. Good pitching brings good results. Preseason expectations should not be lofty, but a winning season certainly should be on the table. Looking forward to watching this season and now it's time to see how far we can fly.
