Authorities are investigating mail containing powder and a threatening letter sent to the home of Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose. A spokesperson for LaRose's office said he opened the mail at his suburban Columbus home Sunday evening and found a powdery substance and "written material of a threatening nature."
Local, state, and federal officials, including hazmat and bomb detection units, went to the secretary's home. "The suspicious materials were collected for further investigation, and the Secretary and his family are safe," the spokesperson said. "The incident remains under active investigation."a suspicious envelope was intercepted before it got to LaRose. He was one of 15 election offices across the country targeted by similar threats.
