Except for a handful of days, the number of new cases has stayed above 19,000 since late December.
Ohio’s death toll since the beginning of the pandemic stands at 31,245. COVID-19 deaths are reported twice a week, on Tuesdays and Fridays, though often the deaths being reported are weeks old.
A total of 7,119,018 Ohioans have received at least one vaccination, representing about 64.7% of Ohioans age 5 and up. Since the beginning of 2021, there have been 16,053 deaths among people reported as unvaccinated, and 761 among people reported to be fully vaccinated. And there have been 53,699 hospitalized Ohioans who were not fully vaccinated, and 3,209 fully vaccinated people hospitalized.
