It’s the first time the seven-member redistricting commission has planned to meet since May 2022, when Republicans on the commission voted to re-approve a state legislative plan that the Ohio Supreme Court rejected as illegally gerrymandered. A federal court ordered that map to be used for the 2022 elections, but the Ohio Supreme Court’s ruling means new boundaries need to be drawn for next year’s Ohio House and Senate elections.
