An Ohio mother who gave birth to her baby on an interstate earlier this month reunited with the first responders who assisted her. The mother went into labor and delivered her baby before emergency services arrived. First responders provided immediate aid and transported the mother and newborn to the hospital.

A mother who unexpectedly went into labor while driving on an Ohio interstate earlier this month has now reunited with the first responders who rushed to her aid.According to reporter Tony Heitmeyer, Hannah Latimer went into labor along Interstate 75 in Shelby County on November 7.

She pulled over and called 911, but her third child, Bowan, arrived before Sidney EMS crews and an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper could get there.Trooper Robert Brown reached the scene first – just a few minutes after Bowan’s birth, according to Latimer. He immediately helped calm the mother and newborn, wrapping them in blankets to keep them warm until additional help arrived.READ MORE: Teacher gives birth in school parking lot minutes after dismissing class: 'Still in disbelief'"I didn’t think it was going to happen that fast," Latimer shared during a press conference. "She did all the hard work, we just kind of assisted after that."READ MORE: Louisiana mom gives birth on her birthday for 2nd timeAfter they both received a clean bill of health, they were able to go home so Latimer’s other two children could meet their new baby brother."I was a little scared, but it wasn’t too bad" Latimer continued, adding that her baby has been "healthy ever since.""I can’t wait until he’s older to tell him this story," she added. This news comes a month after a couple delivered their baby in their pickup truck after an Indiana hospital sent them home.Mercedes and Leon Wells said they begged for help before they were discharged from Franciscan Health in Crown Point.RELATED: Woman unaware she was pregnant gives birth in Golden Corral, names baby after restaurantLeon Wells was driving north on I-65 when he pulled onto the shoulder to help deliver the baby. The dispatcher urged the couple to stay put, but with no medical help arriving, Leon said he faced a terrifying choice: remain on the side of a busy interstate or try to reach a hospital.Concerned about exposing a newborn to cold temperatures and unsanitary roadside conditions, Leon drove west on I-80/94, heading to Community Hospital in Munster, where Mercedes and Alena received care for several days.
