House Speaker Bob Cupp said it's 'doubtful' lawmakers will take up the resolution this week before they adjourn for the rest of the year.

House Speaker Bob Cupp said Tuesday that it's"doubtful" lawmakers will take up the resolution this week before they adjourn for the rest of the year. The measure, if passed and approved by voters, would have required 60% of voters to enact proposed constitutional amendments, instead of a simple majority of 50% plus one.

"Members have a lot of different opinions about it, and some are still trying to figure it out," Cupp told reporters."At this point, I don't see it moving forward this session. I don't know what they're going to do next session."that gives citizens the right to place amendments on the ballot. LaRose and Stewart argued the resolution would ensure special interests can't use the constitution to litigate issues that should be left to the Legislature.
