COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Agriculture (ODA) and the Ohio Christmas Tree Association (OCTA) are spreading holiday cheer
COLUMBUS, Ohio — The Ohio Department of Agriculture and the Ohio Christmas Tree Association are spreading holiday cheer to American troops stationed overseas through Operation Evergreen. This initiative will ship 100 Ohio-grown Christmas trees and homemade decorations to military personnel serving in Jordan.
Ohio Christmas tree growers from across the state donated the trees for Operation Evergreen, now in its 29th year. The annual event takes place on ODA’s Reynoldsburg campus, where trees are inspected for pests, wrapped, and packaged with the help of local volunteers and students. Local schools, churches and veterans' groups provide the hand-made decorations.
