Statewide groups are teaming up through the Ohio Bird Conservation Initiative to take part in an upcoming survey of Ohio 's sandhill crane s. The Ohio Department of Wildlife is working with other organizations to protect the state's environment, and together they are looking for help from the community.
No prior experience is needed to participate in the survey. However, volunteers are asked to sit through a few hours of virtual training to learn how to spot and identify the sandhill cranes in the wild.
