Ohio governor orders flags lowered to honor Madison County Sheriff's lieutenant

Gov. DeWine is honoring the life and law enforcement career of a lieutenant with the Madison County Sheriff's Office who died recently.

Lt. Bryan White began his career in 1996 with the Clark County Sheriff's Office and then joined the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigations in 2008. He later joined the Madison County Sheriff's Office, where he oversaw the Investigations Division and also served as the assistant county coroner.

Gov. DeWine ordered that the flags of the United States and the state of Ohio be flown at half-staff upon all public buildings and grounds throughout Madison and Clark counties and at all Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation facilities on December 9, 2025. The governor's office said all other public buildings and grounds throughout the state may lower flags at their discretion for the same time period.
