The number of new COVID-19 cases in Ohio increased for the 10th straight week
in Ohio climbed again, increasing from 8,607 last week to 9,690 this week - the highest point since Jan. 12. Cases have now risen for 10 weeks in a row.
This week, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration approved an updated COVID-19 vaccine formulated to better target the predominant variants currently circulating. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends the updated vaccine for anyone age 6 months or older who had not received a vaccine in the past two months.
Ohio Department of Health Director Dr. Bruce Vanderhoff said he is confident that updated COVID-19 vaccinations will be readily available to Ohioans, including to those without insurance.
