The University of Cincinnati student barely avoids being shot, but the suspect is accused of killing the student's dog as he left the apartment.
CINCINNATI, Ohio — A University of Cincinnati student barely avoided being shot and was able to fight off an armed home intruder, but the suspect shot and killed the student’s dog as he left the residence, reports say.
“The owner begged for Rhea’s life,” said Ray Anderson, spokesman for the Hamilton County Dog Warden’s Office, tells WXIX. “She was a beautiful 2-year-old Newfoundland who was loved and well-cared for whose life was cut short in an unfathomable act of cruelty.”
