Officine Fioravanti, an Italian firm specialized in automotive customization, has unveiled a modernized version of the iconic Ferrari F40, dubbed the F40 Alte Prestazioni. This project focuses on enhancing the car's safety, stability, and handling while preserving its originality.
A boutique Italian firm named Officine Fioravanti believes it has improved the legendary Ferrari F40 , upgrading the iconic mid-engined supercar with several modern parts. For F40 owners who drive their cars, these modifications could help them avoid becoming the latest victims of the car’s infamously aggressive dynamics. The most significant changes have been made under the skin.
Suspension technology has come a long way since the F40 hit the market, so Officine Fioravanti has developed suspension arms, hubs, and bearings for the car. They’ve also fitted four-way adjustable Ohlins TTX 36 suspension at all four corners, which should help tame the Ferrari’s edgy on-limit handling, while also making it a more comfortable and refined cruiser. There are new brakes, too. These consist of carbon ceramic discs with six-piston calipers up front and complete with a modern ABS system. A new set of wheels has also been developed. While they mimic the original 17-inch shoes of the F40, they are 18-inch at the front and 19-inch at the rear and come clad in the latest Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires. Officine Fioravanti describes its modernized F40 as the F40 Alte Prestazioni, which translates as High Performance. The company says it’s “focused on safety, stability, and handling, and aims “not only to preserve the precious original components from natural wear but also to create a true incentive for owners,” to actually drive their cars. Details about the project remain scarce. It’s unclear if Officine Fioravanti has generated any interest from existing F40 owners ready to upgrade their cars, and pricing for the new components hasn’t been disclosed. Considering pristine F40s can fetch upwards of $3 million, it’s safe to assume these updates won’t come cheap. However, for owners who want to tame the F40’s untamed personality while respecting its heritage, the Alte Prestazioni might just be worth a look
