CBS21 is partnering with Field of Screams so you can "Chime In" with your decorations, costumes, and ALL things Halloween.Concerns of illegal immigrants in Somerset County were addressed by county officials on Wednesday. Both the Somerset County district attorney and commissioners say that there have been numerous community members reaching out about the possible presence of illegal immigrants in the county.

“We have to take every one of those reports seriously and just continue what we're doing as far as our police response and how we take care of the situation," Fochtman stated. Despite major concerns from many community members, Fochtman says that no evidence of any illegal immigration was found by authorities in Somerset County.

“The situation with the possible illegal aliens being in Somerset County was discussed. There had been several reports, and several locations were checked and all of them were met with negative results,” Commissioner Fochtman said. While Metzgar says that the county takes reports of illegal activity seriously, she adds that people should report their findings to the authorities rather than sharing the reports of others on social media platforms.
