KUALA LUMPUR, May 8 — Motor vehicles sales dipped 15.3 per cent or RM1.9 billion for March of this year compared to the same period in 2019, according to recent data released by the Department of Statistics Malaysia today. “Sales value of motor vehicles decreased to 15.3 per cent as against the corresponding period of the previous year. The decline was supported by sale of motor vehicles , sale of motor vehicle parts and accessories , maintenance and repair of motor vehicles and sale, maintenance and repair of motorcycles .

The DOSM also revealed that in their Volume Index of Wholesale & Retail Trade for First Quarter of 2020, sales of motor vehicles have contracted by 6.2 per cent while maintenance and repair of motor vehicles contracted by 1.9 per cent.
