State police and the Mifflin County district attorney's office are assisting with the investigation.
Police shot and killed a man who they say was armed and firing shots on Monday night in the 100 block of West Fourth Street in Lewistown. The Mifflin County coroner’s office identified him as Ridge Rhodes, 29, of Lewistown.
Officers from local departments responded to the residential area around 8:40 p.m. for a report of a man firing gunshots, a state police press release said. Responding officers engaged with the man and fired at him, and he died from his injuries, police said. No officers were hurt.
