Director of the Office of Violence Prevention Rena Shak said her office has been working with the group since February 2024 to understand the current community violence intervention landscape to help the office learn which"Now that it is complete, it has shown us where our efforts are succeeding, where we should be focusing, and recommendations for expansion to continue to impact the reduction of violence in Columbus,” Shak said.
Shak said the report provides a breakdown of Columbus’ community-based organizations and city-funded programs.Identifying and engaging with those who are most at risk of gun violence involvementCommunicating and clarifying service types amongst program providers Shak said with the completed report, the Office of Violence Prevention can start the next step in building what they called a cohesive crisis intervention ecosystem which they believe would result
