DAVID MUNDEE Geneva County scored in all seven innings, including five in the both the third and seventh innings, in taking an 18-7 slugfest over Malone in high school baseball action Friday. JD Shepard led the Bulldogs with three hits and four runs batted in and Dylan Tate followed with two doubles and three RBI.

Braxton Thames had three hits with one RBI and Drew Duncan had two hits and two RBI. Cade Hutchings and Brody Griffin both added a hit and an RBI and Jase Turner and Parker Watson also had one RBI each. Hutchings, the first of four pitchers, was credited with the win, working 2 2/3 innings and allowing two runs on just one hit. Pike Liberal Arts 13, Goshen 0Garrett Whitaker earned a three-run double and a run-scoring single for a two-hit, four RBI game to lead Pike Liberal Arts in the Class 2A, Area 3 game on Friday at Pike Liberal Arts in Troy, helping the Patriots sweep the two-day, two-game series over the Eagles. Patterson and Green both had two hits with Patterson driving in two runs and Green one.Macon-East 17, Abbeville Christian 5The Generals fell to No. 3 state ranked Macon-East 17-5 after leading 4-0 in the first inning. Jayden Buckhannon and Taylor Bower had two hits each for ACA with Bower earning an RBI double. Rooty Ward had a two-run double and Hunter Reynolds a run-scoring single. Holtville Wooden Bat TournamentCharles Henderson 13, Autauga Academy 3Charles Henderson scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning for an early lead then pulled away from a 6-3 lead with three in the fourth and four in the fifth. Chase Vaznaian drove in five runs off a three-run double, a run-scoring single and a bases-loaded walk. Clay Johnson had three hits and drove in two runs and Cooper Johnson also had three hits for CHHS, which had 14 hits overall. Cole Pugh had two hits with one RBI and Kellen Stewart and Wes Templin both had a hit and two RBI. Jameron Burney added a hit and RBI.Warrior Spring Classic Lakeside 12, Providence Christian Academy 8 Lakeside scored five runs to tie the game in the top of the seventh and added five runs in the top of the eighth to win it. The Chiefs amassed 18 hits with all nine regulars earning at least one. Three players – Conner Britton, Tyler-Mark Bullock and Luke McGowan – had three hits with Bullock driving in three runs and McGowan one. Carson Scott, Boston Brown and Brayden Vachon all had two hits with Scott driving in three runs and Brown two runs. Demetrius Hardnett had a two-run double and Cole Cassarino had a RBI double. Seven of the Chiefs’ 18 hits were doubles. Britton had two and Vachon, Cassarino, Scott, Hardnett and Bullock had one each. Britton was the winning pitcher, working the last 2 2/3 innings and allowing one unearned run and two hits. He walked one and had no strikeouts.
