Corey Adkins was placed on leave following a vehicle-in-distress incident Friday near Mirror Lake on the Glenn Highway, the Anchorage Police Department announced Tuesday.
An off-duty Anchorage police sergeant was charged with operating under the influence following an early-morning incident Friday along the Glenn Highway, police said. The charges stem from a report of a vehicle in distress just before 3 a.
m. along the southbound Glenn Highway near Mirror Lake, according to a department statement. “Responding officers determined the vehicle was Adkins’ personal vehicle and confirmed he was off duty at the time of the incident,” the statement said. Following an investigation including field sobriety tests, Adkins was taken into custody, processed and later released, police said. The department said he has been placed on leave pending the outcome of an administrative investigation and “any external legal proceedings.”Department spokesperson Gina Romero did not respond to numerous questions including whether Adkins is on paid leave, what caused the incident that triggered the police response, and why his case didn’t appear with similar cases on public databases. “This is under investigation and what was posted is all that we will release at this time,” Romero said in an email Wednesday.Iran and the U.S. will hold nuclear talks this week as tensions remain highCraving wings?
