The 9.25-mile stretch also would see new pavement, a brand-new interchange at Bixby Road and upgrades at the Interstate 270 interchange.
ODOT officials say no additional land is needed, and environmental clearance is expected by October. That green light puts the project in a strong position for Tier I approval, which would mean earlier access to funding—and a faster construction start, potentially as soon as 2026.and a major rail yard. It also supports GoBus Route A and serves a dense mix of industrial, commercial, and warehouse developments.
