The fact that the Browns sent a representative to Odell Beckham Jr.’s private workout in Arizona on Friday shook the NFL universe a bit, but came as no surprise to anyone in the organization or to Beckham.
So it was a no-brainer for the Browns to attend Beckham’s private workout along with 11 other teams, where he displayed good speed and those exceptional hands, making several one-handed grabs including at least one on a deep ball. He may not be their primary target at receiver, but he’s definitely in their universe of options, and they won’t hesitate to sign him if they think he’ll improve the team.
But over the last week or so, Pocic’s chances of returning to the Browns have increased significantly, and it’s now a good bet he’ll be back snapping the ball to Watson in 2023. Initially, Pocic’s market value was believed to be out of reach for the Browns, but the market became flooded with good centers, and he’s likely more affordable than expected.
It might be time for free agent defensive lineman Dre’Mont Jones to come home. The Browns are expected to be squarely in the mix for Jones, a Cleveland native who played at St. Ignatius and Ohio State, a source told cleveland.com.
