The recent assassination of a Hezbollah military commander in Lebanon, as well as the killing of the political leader of Hamas in Iran, has heightened concerns of a wider regional war between Israel and Iran-backed enemies like Hezbollah. Israel and Hezbollah have traded regular cross-border fire since Oct. 7, although both sides have seemed to calculate their attacks to avoid all-out war.
A new investigation into Hamas' behavior on Oct. 7 laid out the full scope of the terror group's depraved behavior, including harrowing details of firsthand accounts describing Hamas as "animals.
" The report shared accounts of Hamas members raping men and women and executing them. Survivors of the Oct. 7 attack described watching people being taken by members of Hamas terrorists, who were described as “celebrating” while stripping women naked and assaulting them.
“There was laughter. There were jokes. They were passing them from one to another. It wasn’t — it was done for fun,” a survivor told the Civil Commission on October 7 Crimes by Hamas against Women and Children.
“They were celebrating there. They were really, really celebrating with this,” the survivor added.
“This is not rape as it is usually understood. I don’t know what ‘regular rape’ is, but what was heard there was not that. ”In some disturbing attacks, women were allegedly attacked with knives while they were being raped. Women were largely targeted, but men were also subjected to sexual terror.
