Obsession's ending leaves us wondering what happens to Anna
finale picks up moments after the toe-curling cliffhanger of the third episode, in which William's son and Anna's fiancé Jay ditches his stag do to stalk his dad through the streets of London.
Jay staggers away from the scene as Anna and William scramble for clothes and fumble for something to say. Who knows what on earth they could say, but they're denied the chance to figure that out when a dumbstruck Jay backs himself over the top floor's railing. Safe to say, it's much quicker on the way down.
."You want to know how William is going to behave, what they're going to say, what Anna is going to do and it's taken from you."The horror piles up after Jay vanishes into thin air as a naked William runs down the stairs to his son, who's on the ground floor in a pool of blood from cranial ventilation. As a sobbing William holds Jay, Anna quietly breezes past and leaves.
As they reflect on the wreckage behind them, William tells Anna he"couldn't change a thing". Not even when your daughter found that play-by-lay diary entry? No, not even that.As he makes the"we can't let it all be for nothing" argument, Anna is firm in her wish they had never locked eyes at that party in the first place."We caused so much pain," she says and walks away from the table, telling him not to look for her again.
The pair then exchange a lingering look reminiscent of that first moment William and Anna lock eyes and realise they're prepared to torpedo their lives for their sexual attraction."How strange," Anna says, harking back to what she said to William when they first met, before the curtains descend on the series.
