Eric Pree, a 29-year-old Oakland resident, was convicted of multiple charges related to human trafficking and exploitation after a three-week trial in Solano County Superior Court. The jury found Pree guilty of five counts of pandering, two counts of pimping, and three counts of attempted pimping. Evidence presented during the trial included digital records and witness testimonies that revealed Pree's extensive involvement in exploiting women for sexual purposes.
A Solano County Superior Court jury found a 29-year-old Oakland man, Eric Pree, guilty of multiple counts of pimping, attempted pimping, and pandering following a three-week trial. The verdict was delivered on Friday in Department 23 in Vallejo, where Pree was taken into custody and remains without bail at the Claybank Detention Facility in Fairfield. Jurors also determined that Pree had prior convictions for robbery in Alameda County.
The case began on November 8, 2023, when Pree and a woman were stopped by Vacaville police. Evidence found in the car and on Pree's mobile phones suggested he was exploiting the woman in the car and several others. The investigation continued for several months, leading to Pree being contacted on August 15, 2024, while attempting to recruit a new victim. His phone was seized, revealing his continued involvement in pimping and pandering with new women throughout the year. Vacaville police arrested Pree early the following morning in the 4000 block of Business Center Drive in Fairfield. The Solano County District Attorney's Office filed a felony complaint on August 20, 2024, charging Pree with pimping and pandering after identifying six victims. His jury trial commenced last month. After three weeks of witness testimonies, jurors deliberated for several days before reaching a unanimous guilty verdict on 10 felony counts: five counts of pandering, two counts of pimping, and three counts of attempted pimping.Following the verdict, Judge John B. Ellis ordered Pree to return on February 21 at 8:30 a.m. for the setting of a sentencing date and a ruling on the Racial Justice Act, a California law that prohibits the use of race, ethnicity, or national origin in the criminal justice system. Deputy District Attorney Luke Leichty led the prosecution, while Alternate Public Defender Sayuri Takagawa represented Pree. At sentencing, Pree faces up to six years in state prison for a single charge of pimping and pandering and a fine of up to $10,000. Harsher penalties apply if a victim was a minor. In a prepared statement, Solano County DA Krishna Abrams, the county's top law enforcement officer, urged anyone who has been a victim of sexual assault or human trafficking to call (707) 784-6827 for assistance.
