OAKLAND — A 22-year-old Oakland man was convicted of murder and assault for killing a 40-year-old father of four while attempting to shoot a robbery victim, court records show.the death of Chrystian Valdez NegreteValdez Negrete was fatally shot around 2 a.m. on Aug. 11, 2018, near a night club on the 4400 block of International Boulevard in East Oakland. A second man was struck by gunfire but survived.
Prosecutors alleged that Johnson was among a group of three robbing a 36-year-old man, and that while chasing and firing a pistol at the victim, he inadvertently shot Valdez Negrete.
