I’ve been writing about video games, television and movies for Forbes for over 10 years, and you may have seen my reviews on Rotten Tomatoes and Metacritic. I cover all manner of console and PC games, but if it’s about looting or shooting, I’m definitely there. If I’m watching something, it’s usually science fiction, horror or superheroic.

What To Watch This Weekend: New Streaming Movies And TV Shows On Netflix, Hulu, HBO Max, Apple TV And MoreWelcome to the weekend and we have a brand new Strands for you today. If you’re hosting a dinner party this one may be especially relevant. But first...The New York Times’ Strands puzzle is a play on the classic word search. It’s in beta for now, which means it’ll only stick around if enough people play it every day.

There’s a new game of Strands to play every day. The game will present you with a six by eight grid of letters. The aim is to find a group of words that have something in common, and you’ll get a clue as to what that theme is. When you find a theme word, it will remain highlighted in blue. You’ll also need to find a special word called a spangram. This tells you what the words have in common. The spangram links two opposite sides of the board. While the theme words will not be a proper name, the spangram can be a proper name. When you find the spangram, it will remain highlighted in yellow.“Some themes are fill-in-the-blank phrases. They may also be steps in a process, items that all belong to the same category, synonyms or homophones,” The New York Times notes.

We will start with the official NYT hint and then I will craft one of my own to help you out. The official hint today is...These are the answer for the puzzle so turn back now if you only wanted hints as spoilers follow from here. We will start with the spangram which is:Not too many weird ones on here though I can’t say I have too many SAUCERs on the table when I eat most meals. I guess if I’m having coffee or tea? That’s about it though.

Everything else is pretty standard, your KNIFE, FORK, SPOON, PLATE and NAPKIN is about what you’d expect from all meals, more or less. Unless you’re eating takeout and you might need just...one of those. Fun puzzle but sort of easy today. Our community is about connecting people through open and thoughtful conversations. We want our readers to share their views and exchange ideas and facts in a safe space.
