NYPD says 9 men sought in Brooklyn hate crime against Palestinian, Egyptian men
Police say they are now searching for nine men involved in a hate crime assault on three other men in Brooklyn last week.
The assault, which drew headlines in the aftermath of Hamas’ Oct. 7 attack on Israel, unfolded at around 11:15 p.m. on Oct. 11, according to police. Officials said a large group of men waving an Israeli flag approached three young men – ages 18, 19, and 21– near 86th Street and 4th Avenue in Bay Ridge.
The suspects made anti-Palestinian and anti-Muslim remarks, according to officials, and proceeded to punch and kick the 18-year-old victim. Police said the men who were attacked were Egyptian and Palestinian. The suspects fled southbound on 4th Avenue, and the 18-year-old victim sought medical attention by private means, police said. The 19 and 21-year-old victims were not physically injured.Brittany Kriegstein covers all breaking news around New York City, with a focus on crime and gun violence. Got a tip?
