NEW YORK — New York City Police officers shot a man they say was armed with a gun in the Bronx on Friday.It happened near White Plains Road and Lafayette Avenue in the Soundview section just after 3 p.m. Police say the entire incident was caught on police body-worn cameras and external cameras.
Officers then handcuffed the alleged gunman, rendered aid and transported him to a local hospital for treatment, according to police.The second suspect got away, and police are still searching for him.Chell says a loaded 9mm gun and a knife were recovered at the scene.No officers were injured, but two were taken to a local hospital to be checked out as a precaution.The investigation is ongoing.
