Police and City Hall officials are telling residents to avoid the area of 161st Street and Jamaica Avenue in Queens after a shooting involving an NYPD officer and others on Tuesday evening.to avoid the area shortly after 7 p.m. because of emergency vehicles and delays. Mayoral spokesperson Fabien Levy said Mayor Eric Adams planned on visiting the officer who was shot at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center.
".@NYCMayor has been primarily briefed on a shooting in the 103rd Precinct this afternoon, where an NYPD officer & others were shot," Levy. "Details are still coming in, but Mayor Adams will be going to the hospital to visit the officer this evening."
