-- Police are still looking for the person who shot a man point blank in the head in As CBS2's Natalie Duddridge reported Thursday, the victim's father is still in disbelief.Surveillance video shows 26-year-old Peter Panthier Jr. walking with an unidentified man down an alley near Grassmere Terrace and Ocean Crest on Saturday at around 8:30 p.m.His father can't fathom why.
"I mean, the guy was walking side by side with my son, like friends. To me, they look like friends. Then he shot him just like that. My son didn't even have time to look like this," Peter Panthier Sr. said. The shooter then ran off, leaving Panthier Jr. for dead. Police arrived moments later. He was rushed to the hospital, but did not survive."He's normally home. We keep looking for him. 'Where is junior?' Sunday came he's not home. I was beside myself. I start crying. I said he must be dead because my son doesn't stay out like this," the victim's father said. The family said they moved from the Caribbean island of Dominica to Brooklyn more than a year ago.
"He was a teacher at home. He went to study. He went to a leadership conference from Dominique all over the Caribbean. They did an IQ test and his IQ was equal to Einstein's IQ," Panthier Sr. said. His father said his son was quiet, and didn't know many people in New York. The family said they do not recognize the suspect and just want answers.
