Authorities are investigating a burned body found at a park in Manhattan's Washington Heights neighborhood, the NYPD said on Wednesday.
Both the NYPD and fire department discovered the body after responding to calls concerning a bush fire at the corner of Edgecombe Avenue and Jumel Place in Highbridge Park shortly before 5 p.m. on Wednesday, officials said. Upon extinguishing the fire, authorities came across the burned body of an adult female, who was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
