NYPD: Bronx teen arrested in fatal shooting of another teen
NYPD officials said Tyrell Williams was picked up in the Bronx at around 12 p.m. by the department’s violent felony squad, five days after Laquai Dash, also 17, was gunned down barely a block from Legacy College Prep Charter High School in Melrose, where he was a student.
Police were not sure whether Williams and Dash attended the same school. Dash’s grandmother told Gothamist Friday that she believed they went to different schools. Dash’s 12-year-old sister Nia Sky Dash told Gothamist Friday, with permission from her grandmother, that it would be hard to imagine life without her older brother.
