New Yorkers can get used to the sight of restaurant tables taking over traffic lanes and sidewalks as the coronavirus-era outdoor dining program will be “permanent and year-round,” Mayor Bill de Blasio announced Friday, providing major relief to the city’s hard-hit hospitality industry. ... [+]
Before the announcement, the city’s outdoor dining program—introduced in July during the second phase of reopening—was set to end on October 31.
