Yogesh Shandilay was booted after just 30 minutes inside a 7th Avenue bar, after he offered to buy a group of women drinks and solicited them for sex.
An unhinged New Jersey man allegedly repeatedly threatened to kill staffers at Midtown hotspots run by Tao Group — after he was kicked out earlier this summer for propositioning women inside, the rooftop lounge contends in a lawsuit.
Yogesh Shandilay was booted after just 30 minutes inside the 7th Avenue bar, after he offered to buy a group of women drinks, then solicited them for sex in exchange for the beverages and “proceeded to loudly call them ‘sluts,’ ‘whores,’ ‘prostitutes,’ and other obscene names” when they refused, Magic Hour owner Tao Group claimed in court papers.
The ugly July 21 episode was just the first in a string of violent appearances Shandilay, 47, allegedly made at Tao Group venues in July and August, the company said in legal papers asking a judge to bar him from their properties. Four days later, Shandilay — who is believed to be the owner of 34th Street Camera and Computers in Midtown — returned to Magic Hour, threw money at other customers while proclaiming, “I’m the man” before again harassing women inside, according to the litigation. After he was kicked out he blocked people from the entrance, began shouting threats, racial slurs, and “obscenities” at staff, and at one point, threatened workers with a baseball bat, prompting some customers to leave.
Staffers repeatedly called the NYPD, but police said they had no record of arrests stemming from the alleged incidents at Magic Hour or PHD Terrace.Share this article:
