Decades after shifting careers to a prolific sports journalist, Diana partners up with her best friend to coach her to tackle the 110-mile swim from Cuba to Florida that she always wanted to tackle, now at the age of sixty.Nyad is Netflix's true story of marathon swimmer Diana Nyad's numerous attempts to complete the swim 100+ miles from Cuba to Florida at age 64.
The biopic has its moments, certainly, and it’s stronger thanks to a marvelous cast, but it could have been better had it dived beyond the surface.
