But Malliotakis said the House GOP members had a choice at that point to implement “border security changes” and cut “excessive spending” with an earlier resolution that was rejected. “​​I think there has to be a discussion with the speaker and the leadership team,” she answered. “I personally think that it’s not helpful when you can just disrupt proceedings and force a vote on something without having a plan in place to make sure that vote is successful for the conference.”
