Adam McLean collided with Davey Todd during Thursday night's Supersport race at York Corner
Adam McLean has apologised to Davey Todd after colliding with the Saltburn rider during Thursday's Supersport race. McLean lost the front end after missing his braking point heading into York Corner on the opening lap, clattering into the side of the unsuspecting Todd.
It brought the pair's race to a shuddering halt, although Todd recovered to win the following Superstock race despite admitting to be carrying some injuries which he had checked by medical staff at the circuit, and during follow-up scans on Friday.Read more: North West 200 LIVE updates from Saturday's racesMcLean said on Facebook on Friday: "An unfortunate end to our North west 200 this year after last nights Supersport race incident.
"I got sucked in with the riders in front and missed my braking marker into York Corner, Mike Browne was already on the outside line to run wide so I had to take the inside line to avoid him and unfortunately collided with Davy. "It was a genuine mistake and not an attempt to pass. I don’t see myself as an aggressive rider, but these decisions are made in a split second and mistakes happen."He added: "Due to a hand injury I won’t be out again tomorrow . I would like to thank my Team for their efforts throughout the week and everyone who has been in touch since last night.
