Nvidia's new Jetson Orin Nano Super Developer Kit is a powerful AI supercomputer that fits in the palm of your hand. It offers significant performance improvements over its predecessor and is designed to make AI development more accessible.
American technology company Nvidia has unveiled its new artificial intelligence (AI) supercomputer, which fits in the palm of a hand.On Tuesday, Nvidia revealed its new Jetson Orin Nano Super Developer Kit, which can perform almost two times higher than its predecessor, the Jetson Orin Nano Kit from 2022, and has 50 percent more memory bandwidth, despite being comparable in size to a person's hand.
Supercomputers are designed to handle the complex algorithms AI uses and are used to train models faster as well as expand the application of AI. The accessibility of Nvidia's latest model allows people to 'turn ideas into reality,' according to the company's press release.Nvidia's supercomputer is also the most powerful computer for generative AI, claims the firm's website. The supercomputer can be used by 'everyone from commercial AI developers, hobbyists and students,' the company shared in its press release, making it accessible to anyone interested in the technology. The company said that the Jetson Orin Nano Super is best suited for those interested in 'developing skills in generative AI, robotics or computer vision.'It is also Nvidia's cheapest supercomputer yet, costing $249, which is down from $499.Nvidia CEO Jensen Huangsaid in the video shared by the company that the supercomputer could perform 70 trillion operations per second. He said it could also run large language models, known as LLMs, which is the algorithm used by ChatGPT.Pre-existing Jetson Orin Nano Developer Kits can also get the 'super' increase in performance through a software update, according to Nvidia. In a promotional video, Huang brought the kit out of an oven on a tray, saying, 'I'm cooking something up for you today.I think might have cooked it too long, it's shrunk,' showing how it fit in the palm of his hand.Social media users have been commenting on the update on X, with one user writing: 'This is not AI-generated content
