Nvidia's mid-range RTX 5070 graphics card is expected to launch in early March instead of February, potentially to compete with AMD's upcoming Radeon RX 9070. The RTX 5070, priced at $549, features 12GB GDDR7 memory and 6,144 CUDA cores. AMD's RX 9070, rumored to have 16GB GDDR6 memory and a potentially lower price point, could pose a challenge to Nvidia's positioning in the mid-range GPU market.

Nvidia 's upcoming RTX 5070 graphics card might be launching a little later than initially expected, according to industry analyst MEGAsize GPU (@Zed__Wang on X). While it was previously anticipated to make its debut in February, the source suggests that the mid-range Blackwell GPU has been pushed back to early March. This potential delay could be a strategic move by Nvidia to counter AMD 's upcoming Radeon RX 9070, which was also unveiled at CES 2025.

The RTX 5070 is currently the most affordable GPU in the RTX 50-series lineup, at least until the RTX 5060 series is officially released. Powered by the GB205 GPU, it boasts 48 Streaming Multiprocessors (SMs), 6,144 CUDA cores, and is equipped with 12GB of GDDR7 memory. Utilizing a 192-bit memory interface, it delivers a bandwidth of 672GB/s. Nvidia has set the Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) at $549, which is $50 less than its predecessor, the RTX 4070. However, it's important to remember that board partners will likely charge a premium over the MSRP, and we can't discount the possibility of scalpers and inflated retailer prices. Interestingly, AMD is also poised to introduce its new Radeon 9000 series GPUs, including the RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT. While AMD hasn't revealed full details about its new RDNA 4-based GPU, rumors suggest it will feature 16GB of GDDR6 memory, making it well-suited for 4K gaming. In comparison, the RTX 5070's 12GB of VRAM might struggle with texture-intensive titles at higher resolutions. Although Nvidia is actively developing Neural Texture Compression (NTC) technology to address texture memory demands, widespread adoption is still on the horizon. According to a recent report by IT Home, the RX 9070 XT GPU could potentially launch with a price tag of $599, which is $150 cheaper than the RTX 5070 Ti. This means the non-XT RX 9070 will likely be priced more competitively, potentially going head-to-head with the RTX 5070. It will be fascinating to observe if either company adjusts their pricing strategies to gain an edge in the mid-range GPU market. It's crucial to note that Nvidia hasn't officially confirmed a launch date for the RTX 5070. Consumers are advised to stay informed through official channels for the latest updates on availability and performance evaluations
