Tema ETFs' Yuri Khodjamirian predicts a nuclear energy resurgence driven by President Trump's administration. This renaissance will likely be accelerated by support for new nuclear technologies, particularly small-scale modular reactors (SMRs), considered a promising advancement in the field.

Nuclear energy is poised for a resurgence under the leadership of U.S. President Donald Trump, according to Yuri Khodjamirian, chief investment officer at Tema ETFs. Khodjamirian emphasized that the Trump administration demonstrates a strong interest in supporting the advancement of new nuclear energy technologies.

'There's a lot of excitement there, and equally, a lot of loss-making companies that have unproven technologies, and we're going for companies that have projects that are approved,' Khodjamirian stated.Nuclear energy's revival is anticipated to be accelerated by the Trump administration's backing. Khodjamirian acknowledged that developing this energy source requires time, as new nuclear technology approvals can take up to 10 years. However, he believes the process will be expedited under the new administration. Speaking on CNBC's 'Squawk Box Europe,' Khodjamirian highlighted Tema's focus on firms with a proven track record in nuclear technology development. He particularly mentioned their interest in 'small scale modular reactors' (SMRs), a cutting-edge technology. SMRs are compact nuclear reactors capable of generating approximately one-third the electricity of conventional reactors while occupying less space and producing substantial amounts of low-carbon energy. Khodjamirian attributed the renewed interest in nuclear energy partly to a growing recognition of its stability and cleanliness as an energy source. He believes that alongside variable green energy sources, nuclear power offers a reliable and essential component of the energy mix. Khodjamirian's insights reflect the broader global shift towards sustainable energy solutions, with nuclear energy emerging as a key player in this transition
