The NTSB recovered the black box from the Learjet 55 plane crash in Philadelphia, which killed at least seven people and injured 22 others. The crash investigation is ongoing.

The National Transportation Safety Board ( NTSB ) announced on Sunday that they have recovered the black box from the Learjet 55 plane crash that occurred in Philadelphia on January 31st. Investigators located the cockpit voice recorder (CVR) eight feet below the impact site. They also found the aircraft's enhanced ground proximity warning system (EGPWS), which the NTSB stated 'could also contain flight data.

' Both components will be transported to the NTSB Vehicle Recorders Laboratory in Washington, D.C. for analysis. \The NTSB also revealed that investigators have recovered both engines from the crashed aircraft. Wreckage recovery efforts are continuing, and all remaining debris will be sent to a secure location in Delaware for further examination. The crash, which took place near the Roosevelt Mall, tragically claimed the lives of at least seven people and injured 22 others. \Flight data recorders and CVRs are crucial tools for investigators as they work to reconstruct the events leading up to a plane crash. These devices are painted orange to aid in their identification amidst the wreckage. They are typically installed in a plane's tail section, considered the most survivable part of the aircraft, according to the NTSB's website. The Jet Rescue Air Ambulance, en route to Springfield-Branson National Airport in Missouri, carried four crew members and two passengers – a pediatric patient and her mother – all of whom were Mexican nationals. A person in a car was also killed in the fiery crash. Additionally, 38-year-old Jason Rodriguez, who was in the vicinity at the time of the incident, remains missing. His family reported that they last heard from him while he was shopping
