Mamelodi Sundowns legend and former captain Mike"Nanana" Ntombela believes the CAF Champions League will be the real test for Rulani Mokwena's side. Sundowns lead the DStv Premiership by a massive 23 points and will aim to similarly dominate the continent ahead of an upcoming Group B CAF Champions League opener against Al Hilal on Saturday.Cotonsport and Al Ahly are the two other teams in Group B.
"At this stage, it's hard to say if Sundowns will be able to dominate their group the same way they are doing with the PSL," Ntombela tells"Normally, a big club like Sundowns you can only judge them once they reach the knockout stages of the competition."It's going to be very tough there even though they have improved a lot.
"It's good for South Africa to have a team like Sundowns among the continent's best, but the reality is, at that level, it's tough."It's tough to reach the last eight, you have to win the group or come second."But I think they did very well Sundowns they've rested their players, and they've got everyone.Kick-Off at Loftus is at 15:00.
