MORE THAN 3 million subscriber identity module (SIM) cards have been registered as of Dec. 28 as required by law, according to the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC).

MORE THAN 3 million subscriber identity module cards have been registered as of Dec. 28 as required by law, according to the National Telecommunications Commission .

According to the NTC, the figures were provided by the public telecommunication entities to the commission. The Department of Information and Communications Technology may extend the registration period by another 120 days. Unregistered SIM cards would be deactivated. The NTC said the telco reports are to be submitted to the Office of the Commissioner and Regulation Branch on or before noon of the following day through e-mail.
