BREAKING: NSW has recorded two more cases of COVID-19 adding to the virus’s resurgence in the state.
St Vincent’s Hospital in Sydney while infected
. She “provided specialised care” to a single patient, and had some contact with colleagues, NSW Health said in a media alert on Friday evening. Her infection was counted towards Saturday’s batch of cases because the reporting by NSW Health is done by 24-hour periods ending at 8pm the night before each announcement.On top of the two locally acquired cases, a crew member on a coal ship was also infected with COVID-19. NSW Health counts that case as acquired overseas. The man is receiving care at Newcastle’s John Hunter Hospital and the rest of the crew is considered “close contacts” and remain on-board the vessel.
“It’s important to note that there is no COVID-19 risk to the people of Newcastle,” NSW Health’s Dr Michael Douglas said. Dr Douglas also said one case that was recorded in August has been written off after investigation, leaving the total number of infections in the state at 4084.Fifty-six people are being treated for COVID-19 in NSW, and one of those is in intensive care.Source:News Corp Australia
