NSW Police have created a new strike force to investigate cars being graffiti across Sydney's inner suburbs.
According to NSW Police, between 7pm on Tuesday and 9am Wednesday, a number of vehicles in Darlinghurst had been spray painted. One Paddington resident told the ABC she woke yesterday morning to find her car's badge, alongside a number of her neighbours' cars, covered in blue paint. The resident told the ABC that the person behind the spray painting was targeting BMW and Mercedes-Benz vehicles, as well as one Porsche.
A Paddington local who spoke to the ABC said it was mostly BMW and Mercedes-Benz cars that had been defaced."And it was in red paint, and it was exactly the same MO — only Mercedes and BMWs being targeted." As inquiries continue into these cases, NSW Police has created the strike force, named Opelika, to investigate.
