A week after David Collison was last seen, a NSW police search uncovered human remains in the burnt-out tree trunk.

The 33-year-old man was charged after 53-year-old David Collisson went missing at a property near Mudgee in mid-October.

An extensive police search carried out a week later found a number of bones believed to be human in a burnt-out tree trunk, police have said.Collison was reported missing to Cumberland Police after he was last seen at a rural property about nine kilometres north-west of Mudgee on October 15.A police search of the property where Collisson was last seen turned up a number of bones – believed to be human - in a burnt-out tree trunk.They were sent for further forensic examination.

Yesterday, police arrested a 33-year-old man at Maroubra Police Station, where he was charged with murder.The man will appear in Parramatta Local Court today, where police will allege the suspect shot David Collison over a dispute.
