The State Library of NSW has issued an apology after a security guard told the student to leave yesterday.
The State Library of NSW has apologised after a student was kicked out of the building for wearing the Palestinian keffiyeh scarf.
The library said it was "deeply distressed" to receive a report that a security guard had asked the student to leave yesterday. "We want to extend our sincerest apologies to the student affected by this incident and encourage them to get in touch with the Library," the library said in a public statement.The State Library of NSW has apologised after a student was kicked out for wearing the Palestinian keffiyeh scarf. The library said it took immediate action and has spoken to the security guard about the matter.
"To ensure this does not happen again in the future, we will be reaffirming the Library's Reader and Visitor Code of Conduct with all staff members."It has become a symbol of support for Palestine in light of Israel's war on Hamas in Gaza.
