NSW Liberal MPs will meet to discuss the Coalition's future on Tuesday after opposition leader Mark Speakman sacked Nationals MP Wes Fang after Mr Fang criticised him on Facebook. Nationals Leader Dugald Saunders refused to accept that decision.

NSW Liberal MPs to discuss Coalition 's future amid feud between Opposition Leader Mark Speakman and National s member Wes Fang NSW Opposition Leader Mark Speakman announced he'd sacked National s MP Wes Fang from his various roles in the shadow ministry.

Mr Fang, a Nationals upper house MP who is based in the Riverina, publicly criticised Mr Speakman on Facebook, calling his behaviour "underhanded". The Liberals asked Mr Saunders to choose a new Nationals MP to fill the role, but he declined to do so over the weekend. If the Nationals have not chosen a replacement for Mr Fang by then, senior Liberals say they could appoint one of their own.

"Even if there's a need for us to go our separate ways for a period of time then that will be the case, but at the end of the day as a local MP my focus will be on my local community and I'm sure the Nats will as well," he said. "The Liberals I think are confident that the Nationals have more to lose from terminating the agreement, so this could be the Liberals calling their bluff as it were, with the expectation the Nationals will fall into line," he said.
